The following is just a brief outline of the Amazing One - Christ Jesus. For a fuller treatment, see here.
Jesus is, to Christians everywhere, the Savior. The Bible
states how He came from Heaven to be born as a Jew in Bethlehem in Judea, a little
over 2,000 years ago. God had revealed 700 years before
through the prophet Micah that this would be His birthplace (Micah 5:2).
By His Life and Ministry He fulfilled many other Prophecies - proving to all who care
to accept Him that He is indeed the Messiah. That is, the Anointed One
Who would rescue not only the Jews, but also the whole world - at the
time of our greatest need.
To the Law which was given to the Jews, Jesus added Love and Grace. He
proved Himself to be such a powerful Preacher, Healer and Leader that
He was seen as a threat by the established religious authorities. So, tragically He was taken and
subjected to a Roman crucifixion. However, this was not the end of the
story! The New Testament records how He arose from the grave and gave
final instructions to His disciples before returning to Heaven. With
the Help of His Spirit, the Church He founded grew from this small
beginning into the present worldwide movement.
His Message is that each of us can come to know Him as a Person. He loves us, and
desires a vital, transforming, day by day relationship with each of us.
The first step to knowing Jesus in this way is to receive Him as
Savior. By doing this we will find fullness of life, as millions can
witness to.
